What honor it is to design someone’s website….
this WEEK WHILE BUILDING A WEBSITE I CRIED !
I’ll tell you why… (I just had a glass of wine and felt the need to share it…. it helps, doesn’t it? )
It’s truly an honor to be the one who gets to learn someone’s story and put it into design and words. It’s a big responsibility because I’m building a portal (aka: website) where the whole world will have access to my client’s story because most of them (and of us) have built their business based on personal experiences, so when their story is told well, their clients can deeply relate.
I feel genuinely honored to get to know each of them… why they do what they do, why they offer what they offer, why they want to start their business. The majority of my clients are new entrepreneurs, full of passion for what they’re about to embark on. Many have stable jobs, but they know they have more to offer. When they come to me for website design, it’s because they’re ready to put their words and offers out there.
It’s both scary and exciting, for them and for me. They’re “vulnerable”, facing fears, stepping into something completely new. My job is to help them show the world what they have to offer with clarity, confidence, and strategy, without losing momentum. Building and designing a website isn’t just about how it looks. There’s so much more happening behind the scenes that needs to be done and checked, otherwise, no one will be able to find you in the crowded online world.
And that’s when I cried this week….
Reading one of my client’s stories made me so proud of her. I could feel how much she had grown in the past years (or to be more precise when she became a mom, I felt related - In branding and marketing, relatability is one of the most powerful ways to connect with your audience. ) she walked the same path she now wants to guide others, she lives her mission every single day. And there I was, with the responsibility of translating her story into words that feel real and human with strategy, words that build trust, because trust is what turns an audience into clients.
WHAT AN HONOR!
Starting a business is hard. There’s so much to learn, so much time and money to invest, I get it. That’s why, when a new lead comes to me and trusts me to bring their story and offer together in one meaningful, beautiful space, it fills me with real gratitude.
Not the kind of “gratitude” we hear all the time (not the cliché, fluffy kind) but the deep, genuine kind that comes from the heart.
I’ve worked so hard over the past few years to build and keep my own business running, worked hours and hours for free, and I still dedicate hours of learning time (even when I am at the gym I am studying… this is a true thing). I’ve pushed myself to find what I truly love and now, I get to do exactly that: be creative, help others, listen to them, understand their business, and use everything I’ve learned to support my clients.
I’ve overcome challenges and I never stop! Maybe because English isn’t my first language, I feel a responsibility to give my best. Before starting any project, I research, read, and dive deep into my client’s story, their market, and their competitors… etc
And now look at me. I’m helping my clients show up in the busy online world with grace, power, voice and confidence.
If that’s not what true gratitude looks like, I don’t know what is. ♡
